    • Perform a warm shut down on the server. Run:

    • ssh -l root <hostname> shutdown -h now

  3. Extend the server from the rack to ensure it has no power from the bus bar and you can easily access the failed component.

  6. Carefully grab the center of the HDD to the right of the SATA cable connector to extend it from the PCIe cage. Place your fingers on each side of the HDD to remove it the rest of the way. Place your fingers on each side of the HDD to remove it the rest of the way.

  7. Insert the HDD back into the riser cage Connect the SATA and Power cables. Connect the SATA and Power cables.

  8. Finish seating the HDD by pushing firmly until resistance is felt. The retention tab will 'click' when the HDD has seated properly.

  9. Slide the server back into the rack. If the green retention plunger is still in the upright position, twist it 90 degrees to release it. This will secure the server.

  10. Connect the 10G NIC cable.
    • Connect the 10G NIC cable.

  11. Press the power button to power-on the server.
