Introduction

Overview

This guide demonstrates how to replace the SAS expander board in an Open Compute V3 server. == Acronyms and Terms == * Mini-SAS - Mini Serial Attached SCSI * SCSI - Small Computer System Interface

  1. The server can be powered off remotely or on the hardware itself.

    • Remote Power Down: Login to the server to power it off.

  2. Disconnect the Mini-SAS cable. Pull on the pull-tab to release the cable.

  3. Loosen the two thumbscrews on, as shown.

  4. Pull on the two tabs to remove the SAS expander board from the storage tray, as shown.

  6. Slide the board into the storage tray. An audible 'click' will be heard when the tray has seated with its socket correctly.

  7. Tighten the two thumbscrews.

  8. Connect the Mini-SAS cable.
